COST is Danish organisation dedicated to promoting transparencyand understanding of the true climatic and social costs embedded in our economy. Our mission is to disclose, analyze, and communicate the environmental and social impacts of economic activities, fostering awareness and informed decision-making for a sustainable future.
Climatic costs include damage to infrastructure and property from extreme weather events, disruption to supply chains due to climate-related disasters, and decreased agricultural productivity.Social costs encompass health impacts from air pollution and heatwaves, displacement of communities due to sea-level rise and natural disasters, and increased inequality as vulnerable populations bear the brunt of climate impacts. These costs strain economic growth, increase healthcare spending, and exacerbate social disparities, necessitating investments in climate resilience and mitigation measures forsustainable economic development.
The project and the partners will enable our members to acquire skills and knowledge about new topics in a very innovative manner. By combining an internationally collaborative project with digital tools, the participants will be able not only to better understand climate change and environmental issues, but also strengthen their digital skills and learn how to use new tools.
